Indeed!
I had the privilege to experience an out-of-this-world dining experience, thanks to my mum's special day. Few days ago, I was overwhelmed with the idea of what to get her.. Flowers? Chocolates? Homebaked cake? Jewellery? nahhhhh....
And it hit me, why not something interesting... something that might stir up that lil kid in her, a culinary journey of course!
=======================================================
Journey started an hour earlier as Changkat's nightlife is well-known, as well as the touristy crowd and ridiculous jam. It wasn't too long after we managed to search for a narrow entrance with a signboard as shown below..
As we carefully climbed up the carpeted stairs, we get this sense of dark yet elegant exuberance, it was kinda exciting, imagine Alice falling into the rabbit hole.
At the top of the stairs, we were greeted by a team of friendly hosts who guided us over to a stretch of velvety sofas. Time for our welcome drinks and mini games..

A renown blind masterchefAU contestant who got praised by chef Ramsay himself!
Proceeded over to the locker to keep all our handphones, watches, anything that might create light in the dark.. Dad wasn't very fond of the idea due to his surgeon duties, he compromised kindly though =)
We were then introduced to a "Darkness Expert", Dino who guided us into the dark dining room. We were told to form a straight line behind him, holding onto the shoulder in front and just follow. Tippy toeing because it was pitch black, you can't see nada, nothing! not even a glimpse of light.. Terrifying because the last thing I wanted was tripping and tumbling over someone's hot boiling mushroom soup ey...
By all the luck in heaven, we arrived at our table without any incidents. At that very moment, we realise all we have are all our senses but EYES. Seriously, it was PITCH BLACK. I haven't seen darkness in such form till then. So the entire night, we were blindly touching and tasting everything. Fun nonetheless hah!
the restaurant
I will not reveal what food they serve here because the classic menus are supposed to be masked and only be revealed after customers are done with their meal.
Theme of the restaurant is fine dine and Dining in the Dark has been awarded the Best Fine Dining Restaurant in 2015.
Besides that, it has also been ranked #2 out of 3,017 places to eat in Kuala Lumpur.
What are you waiting for? Go grab a table now and indulge! I will definitely go back when the new menu sets in..
